Client: University of California, Irvine (UCI)
Location: Irvine, CA
Completed By: Ramos Industries Inc.
Scope of Work: Commercial Service & Repair
At UCI, Ramos Industries was called in to resolve a critical issue with a newly installed storefront door that had been rubbing on the threshold, creating safety and usability concerns in a sensitive medical facility environment.
Our technicians performed a precision cut of 1/4 inch to 5/16 inch at the bottom of the door, allowing it to open and close properly without drag. This was especially important for the exit door next to rooms occupied by autistic children, where it was critical to prevent unauthorized access or egress.
We also installed a door stop to limit the opening swing to 90 degrees, protecting the door handle from impacting the nearby precast wall and reducing long-term wear or potential damage.
💡 Result: A clean, functional adjustment that prioritized safety, accessibility, and long-term durability, completed with care in an active, high-sensitivity environment.
