Precision. Performance. Fire-Rated.
Installing fire-rated glazing isn’t just about clean execution. It’s about safety, strength, and real coordination.
For this retail space in Southern California, Ramos Industries was brought in to install a specialized fire-rated glass system designed to meet rigorous life safety standards. We installed 2-inch-thick UL-listed fire-rated glass, made of multiple laminated layers filled with fire-resistant gel, all framed within the Forster Fuego Light ZM system. The system is rated for up to 120 minutes and was part of a larger fire-rated wall assembly.
Our scope included glass walls, storefront-style openings, and aligned corridor configurations, all requiring strict code compliance and structural durability.
Site access presented a major challenge. Due to tight space limitations, mechanical equipment couldn’t be used to hoist the glass into place. Instead, each panel had to be manually set by hand, requiring a large team to safely position every unit with care and precision. While the photos may suggest a heavy crew presence, each technician played a vital role in handling the weight and fragility of the material.
This wasn’t your standard storefront install. It was a life safety-rated system that demanded full attention to detail from start to finish.
Special thanks to Advanced Contractors for their coordination and partnership on this project.
